In many ways Richard's love for real estate began at early age, when he would accompany his father, one of Sarnia's premier home builders and developers, to his many homesites being built during the 60's and 70's. That was an exciting time from Canada and homeownership. Bypassing the building trade for the challenges of marketing homes, Richard obtained his real estate license in 1973 at the youthful age of 21 and gravitated naturally to new home sales, along with resale backups. Richard quickly sought knowledge and skills through experience and attending numerous real estate training courses. By 1976, he became one of the youngest real estate brokers and managers in Canada, recruited to manage the Royal Trust branch in Sarnia, one of Canada's leading real estate and trust companies (Royal Trust and A.E, LePage merged into Royal LePage in 1984). Sarnia's vast petrochemical industrial base afforded a rich, corporate relocation environment in which to hone appraisal and negotiation skills. Management, training and recruiting expertise were also developed during the year period as an award winning real estate manager. Seeking to expand his horizons, Richard accepted challenging management positions for Canada Trust in Burlington, then bringing Century 21 Miller in Oakville, to 15th position in the top 21 offices in Canada during very competitive times. Richard is involved in real estate board leadership. PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS
Richard also actively promotes the Oakville community with his "Greetings from Oakville" postcards and "Selling Oakville" Stickers while attending conferences across Canada and abroad. Apart from tremendous learning opportunities offered by conference workshops, and his company's marketing and real estate training, Richard has pursued and achieved success in obtaining the accredited real estate appraisal designation, MVA - Residential. Combined with his computer skills (Microsoft Office). Richard has developed templates of most of the appraisal forms in use today for fast and efficient appraisal services.
Now, more than ever, experience...when it counts!
